Are you ready? In just over two weeks, it will be time for another Free RPG Day celebration! What is Free RPG Day? I’m glad you asked! Free RPG Day is a global event that celebrates the hobby of tabletop RPGs by encouraging publishers, vendors, and gamers to participate in a host of free events, distribute free material, and enjoy this growing hobby with friends and supporters.
To quote the organisers:
Free RPG Day works with top RPG Publishers to create the can’t miss RPG event of the year at hobby game stores around the world.

Participating retailers receive an abundance of new and exclusive RPG adventures, products, and accessories to provide the ultimate day of RPG gaming with giveaways and massive foot traffic.
Gamers get to play new games, publishers get exposure and hype for their core products, and retailers get booming sales.
This year it falls on July 25. I have always loved it, because it was a great excuse to hang out with friends and enjoy ridiculous one-shots, test out new systems and characters, or simply be more adventurous with our roleplaying games. In past years, we used to have all-day tabletop RPG sessions with friends, where we would spend 12 or more hours playing a combination of boardgames or RPGs. This year, with people mostly still in quarantine, we’ll have to come up with a different strategy.
In the meantime, why don’t you plan on celebrating with some free RPG resources from the San Jenaro Co-Op? ZwodderZA is currently helping to edit a Free Games Digest, a special supplement (along the lines of the Short Games Digest) that will be available to download for free on Free RPG Day. In fact, if you want to see him in action, you can check out our Twitch channel where you can watch him edit a sweet and beautiful dinosaur-themed RPG, called Paleo Party. This game was written by Dyer Rose, whom you can find on twitter and on Twitch, where he streams the art he makes for various projects including a bunch of SJC games.
